Koldorf Stam: First law firm to attend Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference

July 10, 2016

TORONTO, ON—Koldorf Stam LLP, a boutique, Canada-wide labour and employment firm based in Toronto, gained a coveted exhibitor spot (Booth 1737) at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference based on their ability to help Microsoft partners expand their businesses by hiring in Canada. No other law firm has ever exhibited at the conference since the event’s inception in 2002.

With this landmark technology event taking place in Toronto, many of the 15,000 attendees will be inspired to leverage the high quality talent and competitive pricing that Canada offers. Canadian laws regarding hiring, firing, discrimination, privacy, indemnification, taxation and other issues, however, require legal expertise in order to avoid exposure. Yet many companies are so wary of high legal feels that they either avoid the opportunity entirely or charge ahead without consulting an attorney.

“When you’re running a business, the last thing you want is an expensive, time consuming legal issue to crop up because you didn’t do your due diligence,” says Lisa Stam, co-founder of Koldorf Stam LLP. “On the other hand, if the legal fees are exorbitant, you lose part of the benefit of setting up shop here. That’s where Koldorf Stam helps. We enable companies to scale their businesses within Canada, with compliance, in order to avoid time-consuming, costly legal exposure. The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference here in Toronto was the perfect place to exhibit and we’re honoured to be the first non-technology company at the WPC.”

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference is taking place in Toronto, Ontario, from July 10-14 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The Koldorf Stam booth is 1737.
