Markwell Clarizio LLP Welcomes Emily Johnston as an Associate
August 19, 2025Emily Johnston is an associate lawyer in our drug regulatory and IP litigation practice.
Emily received her JD from Queen’s University in 2024 and was called to the bar in 2025. She obtained her Bachelor of Health Science (Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization) and her Master of Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization from McMaster University in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
In her undergrad, she completed a senior research thesis in a microbiology lab. During her masters, she completed an internship at a rare disease pharmaceutical company as an associate product manager.
During law school, Emily received the Bereskin and Barr prize in Patent Law and competed in the Harold G. Fox Moot.
Following law school, she completed her articles at a national intellectual property law boutique.
Emily’s passion for drug regulatory and IP litigation stems from her love for science, technology, and innovation.
Emily is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates’ Society, and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
