Condominium Law Lawyer

SV Law has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join our busy Condominium Law Practice Group at our Guelph location.  We are seeking a driven and talented lawyer with 0 to 3 years’ experience in Condominium Law.

THE ROLE:

You will be exposed to a broad range of matters, involving aspects of both a solicitor and barrister role.  You will be responsible for:

• meeting and communicating with clients, including condominium boards of directors and property managers
• conducting and reviewing legal research
• drafting and reviewing a variety of documents, including agreements and condominium governing documents, such as declarations, by-laws, rules, and amendments
• advising on and drafting enforcement / compliance correspondence
• advising on and assisting our Condominium Litigation Group in all aspects of condominium litigation, including mediation, arbitration, matters before the Superior Court of Justice, and matters before the Condominium Authority Tribunal
• advising on the enforcement and collection of condominium common expenses
• chairing condominium owner meetings
• liaising with other allied professionals, such as auditors and engineers

WHAT YOU BRING:

• a member of the Ontario Bar in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• the ability to effectively manage a high volume of work, self-motivated and entrepreneurial
• excellent research, drafting and negotiation skills, and detail-oriented
• eager to take the lead on files as the opportunity arises
• team-oriented and collaborative
• excellent oral communication and public speaking skills
• an enthusiastic and responsive approach to client requirements with excellent people skills
