DMG Advocates Welcomes Corey Groper

DMG Advocates is pleased to announce that Corey Groper has joined us as an associate, practicing corporate commercial litigation.

Prior to joining DMG in 2018, Corey spent 4 years as an associate lawyer at a litigation boutique firm in Ottawa, where he worked on a diverse array of files, including employment litigation, shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims, commercial leasing matters and a variety of contractual disputes.

Corey completed his legal studies at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, where he received joint degrees in Civil and Common Law. He appeared on the Dean’s Honours List during the course of his legal studies and was awarded the Éditions Yvon Blais Prize for outstanding achievement in Ontario Civil Procedure.

Following his articles at a litigation firm in Toronto, Corey served as a judicial law clerk to a New York City Judge.

Corey obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (“LSE”) in 2012, where he specialized in Corporate and Commercial Law. He graduated from the LSE with highest honors and was awarded the Blackstone Chambers Prize for receiving the highest overall average in his specialism.

In addition to his legal practice, Corey spent three years as a professor at the University of Montreal, Faculty of Law, where he taught international economic crime as part of the University’s Masters in Law program. Corey’s teaching focused on a broad range of subjects, including securities fraud, corruption and tax evasion.
