Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Marie joins Smart & Biggar
October 30, 2014Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Maries practice focusses on litigation in the fields of trademarks, patents and industrial designs. He has experience preparing pleadings, motions and written submissions in the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Quebec Superior Court. He is also involved in preparing legal opinions for clients, assisting experts in drafting reports for trademark and copyright cases and assisting in the preparation of licenses and settlement agreements.
Guillaume representsnational and international corporations in a diverse array of industries, including retail goods, sports equipment, food and beverage, tobacco, telecom and software.
Since 2012, Guillaume has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Montreal Artists Legal Clinic/Clinique juridique des artistes de Montréal (CJAM). He was also the legal clinic coordinator and a legal research volunteer from 2010 until 2012. CJAM, a charitable non-profit organization, provides free legal information to artists in Montreal through workshops, individual consultations and general information on its website.
