Howie, Sacks & Henry welcomes Valerie Lord to the Mass Torts Team
January 16, 2017Howie, Sacks & Henry welcomes Valerie Lord to the firm as an associate. She joins the Mass Torts team led by Paul Miller, allowing clients to benefit from their expertise in Mass Torts as well as other personal injury practice areas.

As an associate at HSH, Valerie provides assistance and support to senior lawyers on personal injury cases involving medical malpractice, long-term disability, slip and falls, and motor vehicle accidents. She provides clients with legal advocacy on accident benefits and tort claims, conducts hearings of personal injury cases at the License and Appeal Tribunal and the Ontario Small Claims Court, and pleads motions before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
A bilingual (English and French) graduate of the University of Ottawa’s law school, Valerie served as assistant editor of the Ottawa Law Review, interned with the Ministry of the Attorney General and was an active member and past vice-president of AWARE, which supports and advocates for women’s shelters in the Ottawa area.
