Gillian Hnatiw & Co. is excited to welcome Maria Naimark to the firm.

Maria is an uncompromising advocate for her clients, and a strong believer in access to justice and in using the law to spur social change. She takes the time to understand their situations and takes a highly individualized approach to each case to obtain the best result possible.

Prior to joining Gillian Hnatiw & Co., Maria practiced corporate law and financial litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City. She maintained an active pro bono practice focusing on LGBTQ+ asylum claims. While studying at Harvard Law School, Maria was the Co-Director of the International Refugee Assistance Project, and active on the Board of Directors of the Prisoner Legal Assistance Project. She also worked at Harvard’s Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, appearing in Boston’s Family Court.  During the summer, Maria interned at the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate in the United Nations Headquarters.

Maria is passionate about legal advocacy and equitable, accessible legal representation. She was born in Russia and raised in Toronto, and is happy to provide services in Russian, as well as to communicate in Spanish.
