With a focus on the energy, manufacturing, hospitality, natural resources, private equity, transportation, and technology sectors, Laura is a highly regarded advisor to employers. Prior to joining Mathews Dinsdale, Laura spent eight years practicing employment and labour law at another national law firm, establishing herself as a go-to counsel for employers. Known for her practical and strategic approach, Laura provides guidance on a broad spectrum of employment-related issues. Her areas of expertise include hiring and termination practices, human rights matters, contractual disputes, wrongful and constructive dismissal cases, employment and labour standards, privacy issues, labour relations, workplace health and safety, disability and benefits, as well as alcohol and drug testing. Laura has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta and regularly represents employers at administrative tribunals, including provincial and federal employment standards commissions, human rights commissions, labour relations boards and privacy commissions. Laura is based out of the Firm’s Calgary office.
