Smart & Biggar announces Lynn Ing as new counsel

Smart & Biggar, Canada’s leading firm for intellectual property law, congratulates Lynn Ing on her promotion to counsel.

Lynn has more than a decade of experience in patent prosecution and litigation, bolstered by her strong scientific expertise and background in cancer research. Among her many accomplishments, Lynn held an integral role in the successful appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada in AstraZeneca v Apotex, 2017 SCC 36, leading to the abolishment of the “promise doctrine” of patent utility in Canada. Lynn advises clients on biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical patent applications including for biologics, and represents them in patent infringement, impeachment and damages actions and litigation under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations.
