Steve Benmor is running for Law Society BencherMarch 3, 2015
Steve Benmor is running for Bencher in Toronto because he cares about the legal profession.
“I have contributed to the legal profession and law reform through my work as a sole practitioner, a litigator, an adjunct law professor, an articling mentor, an educator and an avid writer on legal topics. Having attempted to improve the law and the legal profession through my past volunteer work, I would now like to devote my time, ideas and energy to the Law Society. I am eager to work on the pressing issues facing lawyers, while preserving the dignity, importance and relevance of our profession.”
Steve brings a lot of talent, skill and experience to this work, having served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the OBA, Chair of the Board of Access for Parents and Children of Ontario, Founding Director and Treasurer of the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and many more volunteer posts.
In this Bencher election, lawyers need to think about the impact on them of self-represented litigants, ABS, access to justice, paralegals, new lawyers and gray lawyers. Steve cares about these issues and his colleagues.
