Employment Lawyer

Our client is a well-established employment law boutique and is looking for top-notch legal talent. Advising employers of all sizes, the firm provides practical advice and helps clients deal with a wide variety of workplace issues. The firm also works closely with in-house counsel, HR teams, and owner-managers to help their businesses stay informed about the Canadian employment and regulatory landscape. The firm also represents their employer clients in litigation and tribunal matters and, occasionally, assists senior executives as they transition between roles.

The firm is seeking a like-minded practitioner to manage requests for day-to-day legal and HR advice and to oversee longer term projects and negotiations for employer clients. This role includes handling litigation and other negotiations; supporting clients and other lawyers with drafting and damage calculations; as well as engaging in client management and business development activities. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player and bring four or more years of employment law experience in a law firm environment. Strong practice management skills and the ability to work independently within tight turnaround timelines are essential. Candidates must be decisive, capable of handling complex business and HR issues, and comfortable assessing and analyzing compensation and equity. Litigation experience is an asset. Neither a book of business nor a partial portable practice is required.
