General Motors is growing its Canadian legal team and seeking two business-minded corporate/commercial lawyers to join their team as Counsel. The successful candidates will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and advising on strategic business matters, each with their own areas of specialization. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad in-house experience and work closely with a number of business teams at a global company that is at the forefront of a rapidly transforming industry, including with respect to electric and connected vehicles as well as new digital and software-based products and services.
The first Counsel role requires 5 to 7 years of corporate/commercial experience including a strong understanding of advertising and marketing matters. You will act as a key business partner in a role that will include significant involvement with the brand and national marketing teams, strategically supporting them to bring products and services to market.
The second Counsel role requires 2 to 4 years of corporate/commercial experience ideally with exposure to technology and real estate matters. The successful candidate will be taking on a demanding and diverse role that includes contracts, transactions, litigation management, and environmental matters.
