WeirFoulds welcomes Elinor Izmaylov as an associate

September 24, 2019

WeirFoulds is pleased to welcome associate Elinor Izmaylov to the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Elinor’s practice focuses on a wide array of commercial disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Elinor worked in house as legal counsel at a major Canadian insurance provider. In this role, she maintained and managed an independent carriage of complex tort litigation files including excess claims, catastrophic impairments, and other personal injury matters, and mediated and negotiated resolutions to hundreds of disputes. She represented the company and its policyholders at various stages of the litigation process from initial opinions to discoveries, motions, pre-trials to successful settlements. Prior to this, Elinor was an associate at a boutique Toronto litigation firm appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

As Elinor worked to complete her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa, she also provided support to the school and students as both a research assistant and teaching assistant, coaching first year students on alternative dispute resolution.
