Toronto Lawyers’ Association Welcomes New President, Aitan Lerner

Toronto Lawyers’ Association is pleased to welcome our new Board President, Aitan Lerner for the 2023-2024 term. Aitan joined the TLA Board of Directors in 2014. His dedication to the TLA’s three pillars of knowledge, advocacy and community have been his guiding principles as a Board member and will continue to guide him as President.

In a recent article in LegalMattersCanada, Aitan outlined his plans for his term as President. He also spoke of his respect for the Association’s legacy, tenacity and evolution into the contemporary organization it is recognized as in Toronto’s legal community.

“We ensure our voices are heard in the halls of power. That’s why I am excited about doing this job and being involved with the TLA. I am passionate about it,” he says. “This is an incredible organization. And I believe it is [one of] the oldest law associations in Canada at almost 140 years. The TLA has incredible panache because it has been around for so long and the results it delivers for its members.”

Lerner says the TLA has always “been at the forefront of advocating not just for our membership, but on behalf of all Toronto lawyers.”

The TLA is thrilled about the momentum surrounding Aitan’s 2023-2024 term because of his enthusiasm for the role and his commitment to making an impact as an organization.
