SML Welcomes New Counsel, Karen Heath
February 20, 2025Karen Heath (she/her) is counsel at Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc practising in all areas of professional regulation.
Karen has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario, as well as administrative tribunals, and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Most recently, Karen worked at a boutique litigation firm where she practised primarily in the area of professional regulation, representing professionals in regulatory proceedings as well as prosecuting professionals on behalf of various provincial regulators.
Karen has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Dalhousie University. She obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. Following her graduation from law school, Karen clerked for judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. She began her legal career as a criminal lawyer and worked at several prominent criminal law firms in Toronto before transitioning to the area of professional regulation.
