Koskie Minsky Welcomes Associate Pujan Modi
June 9, 2025Pujan joined Koskie Minsky in 2025. Prior to this his practice focused on competition law cases at a plaintiff side class actions firm. His work included the class action against the country’s largest grocery stores and bakeries for illegally fixing the price of bread. He has successfully resisted a motion for stay in favour of arbitration by cryptocurrency exchange Binance in a securities class action. He has also intervened on behalf of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association on a freedom of expression matter.
Pujan is a fierce advocate and team player. He has assisted on appeals, preliminary motions including Mareva injunctions, class action certification motions, electronic document discovery, and oral examinations. This experience comes in cases at the Ontario Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, Ontario Superior Court, Quebec Superior Court (under special authorization), Federal Court of Appeal, and Federal Court. Pujan articled as a law clerk to five judges of the British Columbia Supreme Court. There, he worked on complex trials and pretrial procedures in constitutional, criminal, commercial, and class action cases.
Pujan has been a student member of the Board of Trustees of Trinity College at the University of Toronto, and was a director of the London Goodenough Association of Canada. He provides guest lectures on competition policy at the University of Waterloo Department of Economics.
