LOLG is pleased to welcome a recent new call, Nigel Olesen

LOLG is pleased to congratulate Nigel Olesen for being called to the bar and continuing with our firm as a first-year associate.

Nigel is a results-driven advocate. He is passionate about efficiently solving complex problems.

Nigel is developing his practice in insurance disputes. Nigel gained experience in crime bonds, Errors and Omissions policies, Directors and Officers policies, Commercial General Liability policies, property policies, life insurance policies, product recall policies, and business interruption policies when he articled at the firm. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at one of Canada’s largest insurers and assisted in drafting factums for the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Nigel earned his J.D. from Western University, where he graduated with distinction and received the Law Society of Ontario Prize. Nigel was a competitive mooter with a passion for legal research and writing. He was a top five oralist at the Laskin Moot, and won the JSD Tory Writing Prize for excellence in writing and legal research. He was also a teaching assistant for the first-year Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy course.

Nigel studied economics at the University of Regina. He received the University Medal, which is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in full-time undergraduate studies.
