Laura Weingarden Joins Cassels Brock
September 26, 2013Laura Weingarden is an associate in the Business Law and Mining Groups at Cassels Brock in Toronto. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law. Prior to joining Cassels Brock as an associate, Laura was both a summer and articling student at the firm. During this time, she gained experience working on various matters within the Business Law, Securities, and Financial Services practice groups.
Laura attended law school at the University of Windsor, where she was a volunteer case worker for Community Legal Aid and worked as an intern at the University of Windsor Mediation Services. Laura previously obtained an Honours B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Windsor.
She worked as a research assistant to the head of the Philosophy department and received the Phyllis Shapiro Hurwitz Memorial Prize for outstanding achievement in philosophy. Prior to joining Cassels Brock, Laura worked as a summer law student in the in-house legal department of Forbes & Manhattan, Inc., a private merchant bank, providing legal assistance to a group of publicly traded and private resource companies primarily in the global mining industry.
