LEAF welcomes new staff lawyer Karen Segal
August 16, 2017The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) would like to warmly welcome Karen Segal as LEAF’s new staff lawyer. Karen joins LEAF with a longstanding commitment to feminism, equality, and social justice.
Prior to joining LEAF, Karen practiced as counsel to the Ontario Nurses’ Association and at a prominent labour and human rights law firm. She has advocated for equality and women’s rights in the workplace, addressing sexual harassment, pregnancy accommodation, and accommodation of physical and psychological disabilities, among other issues. A graduate of UBC’s Allard School of Law, Karen has volunteered with community-based groups in British Columbia and Ontario, engaging in women’s equality issues such as sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
