Leah founded and has operated Mack Law Corporation since October 2019, establishing herself as a leading Indigenous rights practitioner in Victoria, B.C. By integrating her practice and operations into OKT, she brings extensive experience advising First Nations and Indigenous organizations on complex and day-to-day legal and governance matters. She will continue serving clients from her existing office in Saanichton, B.C., located on W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip First Nation) land.
A member of Toquaht First Nation, Leah has practised law since 2007. She advises clients on jurisdiction, membership, elections, human resources, and governance structures and policies that support self-determination and Nation-building and reflect each Nation’s unique culture and laws.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Leah Mack to OKT,” says Cathy Guirguis, CEO and Partner at OKT. “Not only does she bring significant experience working in this area of law in a way that is aligned with OKT values and objectives to advance Indigenous sovereignty, but she also extends our office presence and our ability to grow and continue to serve clients in western Canada.”
OKT is a national firm dedicated exclusively to Aboriginal law, working only for Indigenous clients to advocate for Indigenous rights, interests, and self-determination. With over 50 lawyers working across Canada in four practice groups (Business and Economic Development, Governance – Lands, Governance – Services, and Litigation), OKT serves northern and Indigenous clients across every territory and most provinces in Canada.
