Shibley Righton LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Marlin Horst as Managing Partner effective June 1, 2026.

Marlin’s extensive experience as a skilled business lawyer, professor, and director on various corporate and not-for-profit boards, perfectly positions him to lead our progressive team of professionals towards further growth and continued success for many years to come. Marlin has previously served on various committees within the firm and he is known to be calm, reflective, intelligent and dedicated to anything he commits himself to.

True to his ability to always be engaged in stimulating endeavours, Marlin will continue to provide legal services to his corporate clients as well as handle real estate transactions, and estate planning and administration for high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners.

Marlin is stepping into the shoes of Sandra Dawe who has been a trail blazing Managing Partner since 2000.  Sandra’s solid leadership has successfully guided the firm through a myriad of milestones, changes, challenges, celebrations and growth over the years and she is handing over a robust firm and team of lawyers and staff. Sandra is looking forward to focusing her full attention to her thriving litigation practice once again and supporting Marlin in his goal to lead the firm to even greater heights.
