September 4, 2025Brendan is an associate at Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP, where he practices criminal and regulatory litigation. He also summered and articled at the firm.
Brendan obtained his J.D. and his Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University. While in law school, he worked as a student clerk at the Court of Appeal of Quebec for Justices Yves-Marie Morissette and Lori Renée Weitzman. As a student, he received numerous awards for academic achievement, and represented McGill at the Gale Cup Moot and the Canadian National Negotiation Competition. Upon graduation, Brendan was awarded the Elizabeth Torrance Gold Medal for the graduating student with the highest standing.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Brendan served 14 years as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He began his career as an artillery officer, specializing in providing artillery and close air support in combat operations. After serving as the aide-de-camp to the commander of military forces in Quebec, Brendan trained as an army intelligence officer. He deployed to Kuwait and Baghdad, receiving medals from Canada, the United States, and France for his service during the war against the Islamic State. He also participated in various domestic operations, where he assisted Canadian authorities respond to natural disasters and provide shelter to asylum seekers.
Brendan attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar (New College, 2011), where he earned an MPhil in International Relations. He attended the Royal Military College of Canada for his undergraduate studies, earning an Honours Degree in History. He was awarded the Governor General’s Medal as the graduating student with the highest standing.
