Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP welcomes associate Jennie Han

Jennie Han has joined Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP’s commercial litigation group as an associate, bringing with her experience in commercial dispute resolution and tax litigation.

Prior to joining BD&P, Jennie practiced in the tax litigation group at an international law firm. Jennie was called to the Alberta Bar in 2019 and to the New York Bar in 2014. She completed her J.D. at Yale Law School and also has a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

Jennie is a member of The Advocates’ Society, the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the International Fiscal Association. Outside of the office, she is a Director of the Association of Women’s Lawyers.

Commenting on her new role, Jennie said: “What attracted me most to BD&P was the warmth and humor of the lawyers and staff and the opportunity to engage with clients and areas of the law that lie beyond the relatively narrow focus of some other large firms in Calgary. Ultimately though, it was the people I met that excited me most about joining BD&P, and I can’t wait to work with and learn from folks who seem to approach the law and their colleagues with not only intellectual rigor, but also intellectual playfulness and kindness.”
