Daniel Whalen joins Smart & Biggar
October 30, 2014Daniel Whalens practice focusses on litigation relating to patents, trademarks, industrial designs and copyright. He also works to enforce trademarks and copyrights on the Internet, including domain name recovery and online content recovery.
During his legal studies, Daniel was the recipient of several awards, most notably, the Barry D. Torno Memorial Prize in 2012 and 2013 for best intellectual property research paper at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Charles Edward Woodrow Award in 2011 and 2012 in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement. Daniel was also the winner of Canadas IP Writing Challenge in 2012 and 2013 and placed in the top 15 percent of his graduating class.
In addition to his legal practice, Daniel has served as an editor of the Intellectual Property Journal since 2012.
