Durant Barristers Welcomes Leslie Anne St. Amour

Durant Barristers is pleased to welcome associate lawyer Leslie Anne St. Amour to our growing team!

Durant Barristers was formed by Erin Durant in May of 2021. The firm takes on a variety of disputes, investigation and sports mandates throughout Ontario. A fully virtual firm, we will soon have dedicated people “on the ground” in Ottawa, Toronto and Barrie.

Leslie Anne (she/her) is a fearless young lawyer. She was born and raised in Eastern Ontario and is a member of the Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation and has mixed Algonquin and settler heritage. She currently resides in Toronto. 

As a law student at the University of Toronto, Leslie Anne joined the Board of Aboriginal Legal Services. She was also the recipient of the University of Toronto’s Dean’s Leadership Award in 2018 and the John Willis Student Leadership Award in 2020. She joins Durant Barristers after completing her articles with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks where she had the opportunity to participate in litigation, regulation drafting and prosecutions of environmental offenses.

Leslie Anne is the co-host of the podcast “Rebalancing Act” which she created with a law school colleague.  The podcast interviews experts and discusses climate solutions in an accessible way for young people. 

Leslie Anne will be assisting all of Durant Barristers clients. She will also be working to grow her own practice in the areas of Indigenous and Environmental Law. Leslie Anne can be reached at LAStAmour@DurantBarristers.com.
