Leigh is a fierce advocate for her clients and brings thoughtful and pragmatic solutions to complicated problems. She has a keen eye for what sits at the heart of any given dispute and is skilled at navigating the litigation process in a manner that best advances her clients’ interests. Every case is different and Leigh approaches each one with compassion and dedication. She takes pride in empowering her clients to feel confident in the decisions they make throughout the life of their case.
Prior to joining Gillian Hnatiw & Co., Leigh practiced civil litigation at a top insurance defence boutique in Toronto. She gained a wide breadth of experience litigating complex cases involving professional liability, class actions, personal injury, property claims, and health law. She has experience before a variety of courts, including the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
While in law school, Leigh served on the board of the Canada-United States Law Journal for three years, culminating in her position as Editor-in-Chief for the 44th volume. She edited the 31st through 33rd volumes of the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence and was the President of the Gender and the Law Association. Leigh routinely acts as a Moot Supervisor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Upper Year Moot as well as a Registrar for the Tort Law Moot.
