September 19, 2024Matthew is an associate in the criminal practice of Henein Hutchison Robitaille LLP.
He completed his articles as a judicial law clerk at the Superior Court of Justice in the Central West Region, assisting judges on a range of criminal, civil and family law matters. Following this, he spent a year in the United Kingdom as a recipient of the Harold G. Fox Education Fund Scholarship, where he worked on complex litigation in some of the most pre-eminent barristers’ chambers in London and received advocacy experience provided by the Inns of Court – the founding institutions of the common law tradition.
Matthew received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he graduated among the top of his class with numerous awards. He achieved the highest standing in the Intensive Program in Criminal Law and gained experience working for both the Crown and defence firms. During this time, he was also appointed as a Dean’s Fellow, an executive of the Criminal Law Society, and worked as a research assistant to distinguished judges and professors, contributing to publications on criminal procedure and torts.
