LOLG is pleased to welcome a new call, Tanzim Rashid

LOLG is pleased to congratulate Tanzim Rashid for being called to the bar and continuing with our firm as a first-year associate.

Tanzim looks outside of the box for solutions to complex legal disputes, revealing new strategic pathways that strengthen his clients’ positions.

Tanzim is building a dynamic and varied litigation practice, with particular interests in public law, corporate governance disputes, and class actions. He obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, and completed a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business. He was awarded a number of course prizes, medalled as an oralist at multiple mooting competitions, and was recognized for his contributions to the South Asian Bar Association. Tanzim founded the Osgoode Society of Civil Litigation and revived the Baby Jessup International Law Moot hosted by the International Law Society. Tanzim also served as a volunteer caseworker for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, working with the Director of the Fundamental Freedoms division to prepare submissions that were presented at the Emergencies Act Inquiry. He was also a consultant for the Global Leadership Program hosted by the Schulich School of Business, working with students at the Coller School of Management to develop an international market analysis for a startup medical technology company in Tel Aviv.

Before law school, Tanzim worked in risk analysis at the Royal Bank of Canada, where he developed a sharp eye for why and how businesses fall into poor financial health, and learned to work closely with his clients to devise optimal, mutually beneficial solutions.
