McLeish Orlando’s Newest Partner: Alison T. Burrison

Alison brings a wealth of experience in the area of personal injury litigation, especially paediatric brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and orthopaedic injuries. As a mother of two young boys, she loves working for children and their families, many of which have sustained catastrophic injuries or losses (including the loss of a loved one). She understands her clients do not just require financial security; they also need someone who understands what they have gone through. Alison says her job is most rewarding when she “can help [her] clients stay positive and focus on their future goals and ultimately give them the financial security to reach them.” One client says “she is the definition of a professional while allowing herself to be empathetic and dedicated to ensuring her client’s needs are met”.

As a female lawyer Alison is referred by many lawyers, experts and professionals in the health care industry because of her ability to connect with families and to guide them through the legal process after life changing injuries. Her compassion and dedication to her cases make her a favorable counterpart to her clients. Alison has a Bachelor and Master of Laws from Dalhousie University. She has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario and British Columbia, as well as administrative tribunals on behalf of her clients. She has also represented clients at multiple mediations and pre-trial conferences involving complex matters of liability and damages. Alison is a “tremendous asset to the firm and we are lucky to have her” says Dale Orlando, founding partner of the firm.
