McLeish Orlando Welcomes Cierra Hurley as an Associate

Cierra Hurley is an Associate at McLeish Orlando LLP, where she advocates for individuals and families affected by serious injuries.

Cierra began working with the firm as a summer student in 2024, returned in 2025 to complete her articles, and joined as an Associate following her call to the Ontario bar in June 2026.

Cierra received her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where she developed a particular interest in the intersection of law and health. She received the Course Prize for achieving the highest grade in both Public Health Law and Mental Health Law. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she helped vulnerable individuals navigate the process of obtaining government-issued identification.

Prior to law school, Cierra earned a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) from the University of Ottawa, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Psychology. She then worked for a non-profit organization in a rural community, providing mental health support to children, youth, and families. Through this work, she saw firsthand how trauma, mental health challenges, and significant life circumstances can affect individuals, families, and communities. These experiences inspired her to pursue personal injury law, where she could continue supporting people through difficult times and advocating for the resources they need to move forward.

Cierra has successfully represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, Landlord Tenant Board, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Outside of the office, Cierra enjoys travelling, staying active, discovering new restaurants, and finding her next good book. She especially enjoys weekends in cottage country with family and friends.
