Senior Legal Counsel (Investments)

We are working with the Building Ontario Fund (“BOF”), a provincial Crown agency backed by $8 billion in seed funding, in search of a Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing Investment Legal team in Toronto.

This is a unique opportunity to join BOF at an exciting stage of growth and play a lead role on complex, high-profile infrastructure financing transactions across the energy, transportation, affordable housing, long-term care, critical minerals, and municipal/community infrastructure sectors.

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, the successful candidate will act as the in-house legal lead on sophisticated debt/equity financing of infrastructure and real estate transactions, manage external counsel, negotiate complex bespoke agreements, and provide commercially minded advice to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience gained in a leading law firm or sophisticated in-house environment, ideally with exposure to project finance, infrastructure, banking and finance, debt/equity financing, or real estate finance matters. Prior infrastructure or public sector experience is an asset, but not required.

This is a fully in-office role based in downtown Toronto (steps from Union Station) and offers competitive compensation and bonus package.
