Smart & Biggar welcomes Matt Campbell as Associate in Vancouver

Matt Campbell joins the Vancouver office as an associate, splitting his time between litigation matters and patent prosecution, trade-mark opposition and expungement proceedings.

Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce that Matt Campbell has joined the firm as an Associate in our Vancouver office.

Matt’s practice is divided between litigation matters and patent prosecution. Matt’s clients—which include companies in the bio-tech, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as small tech start-ups—can trust that his background in chemistry gives him valuable insight into their businesses.

On the litigation side, Matt routinely carries out legal research and assists in the preparation of notices of application and associated documents. On the patent prosecution side, he drafts responses to Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and associated reporting letters to clients. Matt also drafts materials related to trade-mark opposition and expungement proceedings.

Before commencing his legal studies, Matt taught general and organic chemistry at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia. He completed his Juris Doctor degree at Thompson Rivers University.
