Torkin Manes is pleased to announce that Matthew Getzler has joined the firm as co-chair of the Tax Group and a member of the firm’s Wills, Trusts & Estates Group.

Matthew brings more than 15 years of experience to his multi-disciplinary practice that encompasses all manners of tax, estate planning and wealth management. He has established himself as a leading authority on a broad range of domestic and international tax planning, primarily for owner-managers and other private corporations. His sharp business acumen and extensive corporate background, coupled with his practical and entrepreneurial approach have been instrumental to clients as they seek to develop comprehensive plans that uniquely combine both tax and business benefits specific to their circumstances and needs.

To complement his tax practice, Matthew has developed particular expertise in wealth management, particularly succession and estate planning for family businesses and their related corporate groups, corporate reorganizations, cross-border transactions, and tax planning for larger multi-national corporations. He has also built a robust wills and estates practice that focuses on personal / corporate tax and estate planning, with a concentration on complex wills that merge with corporate tax plans, cross-border planning for dual citizens and post-mortem tax planning.
