Loopstra Nixon LLP is pleased to announce that Jayson Thomas has been appointed General Counsel. Jayson is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, recognized for his sound judgment and principled approach to complex matters. He represents businesses and individuals in commercial and contractual disputes, employment matters, shareholder and partnership disputes, real property disputes, and negligence claims, and is frequently retained to seek extraordinary pre-trial relief, including Mareva orders and other forms of emergency injunctive relief.

He also acts for financial, healthcare, and legal professionals in regulatory proceedings before discipline committees and tribunals. Prior to joining the firm, Jayson practised at the Toronto office of an international law firm and at a litigation boutique in Miami, Florida.

In his new role, he will lead the firm’s focus on professional responsibility and governance.
