Paliare Roland welcomes Renuka Koilpillai

Renuka Koilpillai is building a diverse civil litigation and administrative law practice. She joins the firm after working for a number of years at the Department of Justice litigating on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, and various tribunals, and has assisted on matters before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Renuka’s experience includes litigating a wide variety of civil and administrative proceedings including class actions, crown liability proceedings, constitutional challenges, and applications for judicial review related to telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and financial transactions.

Prior to embarking on her legal career, Renuka attended the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. While at law school, she was a caseworker at Downtown Legal Services in the criminal law and university affairs divisions. She also participated in and won the Winkler Class Action Moot. Before obtaining her JD, Renuka attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Public Policy.
