Fogler, Rubinoff LLP Welcomes Wendy D. Riel

Fogler, Rubinoff LLP is pleased to announce that Wendy D. Riel has joined the firm as a Partner in our Intellectual Property Group. Wendy is a barrister and solicitor and a registered trademark agent who enjoys assisting a wide variety of clients, including multinational, national, mid-sized and small businesses, along with entrepreneurs, with their intellectual property needs.

Wendy has extensive experience in providing trademark search opinions, filing and prosecuting trademark applications, preparing licensing agreements, and advising and managing opposition matters, post-registration proceedings including summary cancellation proceedings and litigation matters. Wendy is also experienced in the areas of the acquisition of trademarks, branding, due diligence and marking and labelling requirements. She also has experience in the areas of copyright and domain names.

Wendy is a member of various national and international intellectual property associations, including the International Trademark Association (INTA) and Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), and is currently on the Trademark Office Practices Committee for both INTA and IPIC. Prior to private practice, Wendy was a Senior Trademarks Examiner at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). Outside of the office, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, playing pickleball and enjoying cottage life, and she is an avid sports fan.
