Artemis Lai joins Smart & Biggar

Artemis Lai’s practice focusses on patent prosecution and drafting in mechanical, electrical and computer-based technologies and also involves trademark applications, litigation and licensing. She works with large multinational corporations in addition to medium sized firms and sole practitioners.

Prior to joining the firm, Artemis gained experience in bioinformatics and computer science while working at the Centre for High-Throughput Technology on a large scale analysis of genes. She also worked at Zymeworks Inc. where she was responsible for strategic management of patent and trademark portfolios.

During her time at the University of British Columbia, Artemis worked in several labs in fields including brain research, wine research and bioinformatics.
