Bennett Jones Welcomes Associate Chris Marta
July 15, 2019Chris Marta’s practice focuses on tax litigation and dispute resolution. He represents clients in tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency as well as litigation before the Tax Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal. Chris has been involved in various tax matters including tax avoidance, the computation of income, capital expenditures, registered retirement savings plan rules, and commodity taxation.
Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Chris completed a judicial clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada. During law school, he worked as the Chief Legal Researcher for Professor Richard H. McLaren OC and contributed to various corporate law publications.
Chris is also a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant. Prior to attending law school, he practised in the tax group at an international accounting firm.
