Janna Young is an associate in Fasken Martineau’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group.
Janna is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Winnipeg, where she was named Student of Highest Distinction. Janna has received a number of awards including the Douglas K. Laidlaw Scholarship, the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, the University Gold Medal, the Judge Walter Lindal Memorial Scholarship, the Erica and Arnold Rogers Scholarship, the Jo Lindal Memorial Scholarship, the Condren Rex Keatinge Scholarship, the Academic Proficiency Scholarship, and the University of Winnipeg Special Entrance Scholarship. Janna has worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto and University of Winnipeg, as a Teaching Assistant and Biology Lab Demonstrator at the University of Winnipeg, as a Research Assistant for Carpenter Family Law, and Lundell & Hassan-Lundell Attorneys. She has volunteered with Artists’ Legal Advice Services, Downtown Legal Services, and the Headingley Correctional Centre. She was a member of the Trial Advocacy Group, the IHRP Working Group-UN Women’s Property Rights, the Women and the Law Student Group, the University of Winnipeg Student’s Association, and participated in the University of Winnipeg Criminal Process and Procedures Moot. Janna enjoys outdoor activities such as wake surfing, camping, and snowboarding, and music. She is also an identical triplet.
