Hicks Morley Welcomes Joshua Ghatak

Hicks Morley is pleased to announce that Joshua Ghatak has joined the firm as an associate in our Toronto office. Joshua advises private- and public-sector employers on a variety of matters related to employment law, wrongful dismissals, litigation strategy, labour relations and accommodation within the human rights context.

Joshua dedicates a part of his practice to helping employers comply with workplace legislation, both provincially and federally. Given the demanding and ever-changing nature of workplace legislation, Joshua takes a proactive approach when advising employers. This involves identifying possible concerns in their employment contracts, anticipating necessary changes to workplace policies and guiding employers through the termination and discipline processes. Throughout, Joshua aims to distill complex legal issues into practical solutions.

Joshua received his Juris Doctor from Western University and served as the co-chair of the faculty’s Entertainment and Sports Law Association. Prior to law school, he was on the Dean’s List while he completed his undergraduate degree at Ryerson University. Joshua articled with the firm before returning as an associate.
