Kevin Siu joins Smart & Biggar

Kevin Siu’s practice focusses on all areas of intellectual property litigation including patents, copyright and trademarks matters. He prepares documents for court proceedings and in support of litigation including memoranda of fact and law, cease-and-desist letters, statements of claim and settlement agreements. In addition, Kevin has experience in drafting of patent applications and in patent prosecution.

Kevin works with a wide variety of clients including in the pharmaceutical, technology and entertainment industries, in addition to mechanical, chemical and industrial engineering firms and brand owners both nationally and internationally.

During his undergraduate studies, Kevin participated in internships where he gained industry experience in transportation and infrastructure engineering. He has also worked for a start-up company doing work in software engineering.

During his legal studies, Kevin was a Grand Finalist at the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot (2014) and a recipient of the Honourable Jerry S. Grafstein, QC Prize in Communications Law (2013). He also received the Donald F. Sim Award for best oral advocate and the Dimock Stratton LLP Award for top mooter in a non-graduating year, both at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot (2013).
