Walter is a member of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Law practice group, with a practice focused on Community Law.

Walter advises community-focused organizations, including not‑for‑profits, social enterprises, associations, and other mission‑driven groups. With a background spanning private practice, in‑house counsel roles, the not‑for‑profit sector, and a start‑up investment firm, Walter brings a multi‑layered and practical approach to helping clients achieve their organizational goals.

He provides strategic guidance on governance, compliance, and finance transactions that support the unique needs of community organizations. Walter has extensive experience collaborating with committees, presenting to boards, and developing compliance processes and governance structures.

His work in the investment industry also complements his interest in social investments and social finance. Having served on boards and worked within community not‑for‑profit organizations, Walter understands firsthand the importance of aligning legal advice with an organization’s mission and purpose.
