Loopstra Nixon LLP is pleased to announce that Scott Hamilton has been appointed Deputy General Counsel. Scott is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, known for his practical insight and strong advocacy. He has conducted numerous trials and motions before the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal and has extensive experience in municipal and insurance defence litigation.

He regularly presents on municipal law topics at conferences and seminars for municipal lawyers’ associations, risk and insurance organizations, and legal conference providers. He has also contributed to leading texts on municipal liability and written on recent developments in the field.

As Deputy General Counsel, he will support the firm’s governance framework and professional standards.
