Loopstra Nixon LLP Welcomes David Laurie as an Associate.

David is an associate in the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group.

David completed his Juris Doctor at Western Law. Prior to joining Loopstra Nixon, he summered and articled for a large national firm in Ottawa, specializing in intellectual property and litigation. David is bilingual in English and French.

At Western Law, David completed the Capstone in Litigation, and took courses specializing in intellectual property and environmental Law. He received awards for excellence in legal writing.

David is passionate about community service, and volunteered as an Associate Caseworker at Community Legal Services, and as a Program Volunteer at the Indigenous Youth Outreach program. He ran middle-distance with the Mustangs Track & Field Team.

Before attending law school, David completed a bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at the University of Guelph, where he was team captain of the Gryphons Nordic Ski Team. During the summers, David worked for a leading biotechnology company where he discovered a passion for technology and intellectual property.

Outside of work, David enjoys rock climbing, running, music, and spending time with friends and family.
