Loopstra Nixon LLP Welcomes Matthew Rendely as a Partner

Matthew Rendely is a Partner and co-lead of the Estate Litigation practice group at Loopstra Nixon LLP. He practices exclusively in the areas of wills, estates, trusts, powers of attorney, guardianship, and capacity related litigation. 

Matthew is a strong and passionate advocate for his clients. He has successfully represented clients at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.  

Prior to joining Loopstra Nixon LLP, Matthew was a partner at a leading estate litigation boutique firm in Toronto.  

Matthew’s expertise in estate litigation is widely recognized by his clients and colleagues. Matthew has been ranked by his peers in Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” in the area of trusts and estates law for three years in a row (2021, 2022 and 2023). Matthew has also been ranked for the second year in a row in the “Private Wealth Disputes – Canada” category of Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide 2023 as an “Up and Coming” lawyer. In 2021, Matthew was awarded the Hoffstein Book Prize by the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) for his contributions and achievements to the area of wills, trusts and estates. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair on the OBA’s Elder Law Executive committee.
