Loopstra Nixon Welcomes Yasmin Thompson as an Associate

Yasmin is an associate establishing a broad practice in Banking and Financial Services.

Prior to joining Loopstra Nixon, Yasmin refined her drafting skills and client-oriented mindset during her articles at a full-service regional law firm. She also had the unique opportunity to work for judges at Ontario’s largest and most innovative courthouse, where she honed her ability to think outside the box in her approach to complex legal challenges.

Throughout the completion of her Juris Doctor degree at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Yasmin was actively involved in her law school community. Her strong interest in cross-border legal matters led her to create and lead the law school’s International Law Society. She also served as Vice President of multiple other student organizations while simultaneously working as a Research Assistant for much of her time at law school.

Yasmin’s strong academic background combined with her diverse work experience allows her to approach complex financings with both creativity and precision.

Outside of the office, Yasmin enjoys playing tennis, skiing, traveling, and reading.
