Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce that Matthew Burt has joined the firm as an Associate in our Ottawa office.
Matthew’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, covering all fields of Intellectual Property law. This includes patents, trademarks, copyright and industrial designs. He is involved in all aspects of a litigation file, from preparing cease and desist letters, drafting infringement and validity opinions, to representing clients in court proceedings before provincial and federal courts.
Matthew holds a B.Sc. Hons. from Queen’s University and a M.Sc. (Cellular and Molecular Medicine) and J.D. (summa cum laude) from the University of Ottawa. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017.
