Stefanie Holland Joins Cassels Brock as an Associate

Stefanie is an associate, practising in the area of commercial litigation. She was both a summer and articling student at Cassels Brock prior to joining the firm as an associate. During this time, Stefanie was actively engaged in cases involving a variety of areas of law, including negligence, contract disputes, employment and human rights, disputes involving investment dealers and advisors, copyright and trademark infringement and class action proceedings. Her experience includes:

• Assisting with two high-profile class action proceedings

• Assisting with the preparation of a hearing before the Copyright Board of Canada

• Conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, pleadings, factums and writing opening and closing submissions for both Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court proceedings

As an articling student, Stefanie participated in the firm’s secondment program at the criminal law offices of Greenspan Partners. During this time, Stefanie attended and participated in bail hearings, set-date appearances and preliminary inquiries.

While in law school, Stefanie was an ambassador for the University of Ottawa Law School. She also interned with in-house counsel in New York in the areas of internet and employment law.

Prior to pursuing a career in law, Stefanie earned an Honours Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto in piano performance. She composed and performed her own piano concerto and successfully competed in performance competitions at both the provincial and national level. Stefanie continues to perform both classical and jazz piano.
