Elysia started with Thomson Rogers in 2019 as a summer and articling student and joined the firm’s Family Law group as an Associate in 2021.
Elysia graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2020, receiving the Class of 1967 Prize for the second-highest average in her final year of law school.
While in school, Elysia was a volunteer coordinator at Pro Bono Students Canada, assisting family law lawyers on pro-bono files, and organizing visits and placements in law firms for first year law students to gain experience and exposure to family law. She was also a senior editor at the law school’s Journal of Law and Equality, which aims to promote critical and informed debate on equality issues in Canada.
Elysia was selected for the University of Toronto’s competitive mooting program, competing and coaching in the Walsh Family Law Moot, where the University of Toronto achieved first place in 2020. She and her teammates tackled complex matrimonial property division disputes involving property in the evolving field of assisted human reproduction.
