The lawyers at Thomson Rogers LLP are pleased to announce that Ben Horovatin has joined the firm as an Associate in their Municipal and Planning Law department.
Ben earned his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024. Before his legal education, he obtained a Bachelor of International Economics (with distinction) from the University of British Columbia, where he specialized in econometrics and developmental economics.
During law school, Ben volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada as a mock refugee hearing supervisor, assisting claimants in presenting their narratives and cultivating a passion for advocacy. He completed his articles in-house at an upper-tier municipality, with rotations at its police service and an associated lower-tier. Ben has supported clients across a wide range of Municipal and Planning Law matters, including appearances before various tribunals and coordination across diverse stakeholder groups. Prior to articling, Ben summered in the Enterprise Risk Management department of a large Albertan municipality.
In his spare time, Ben is an avid home cook and culinary enthusiast who enjoys travelling, eating, and taking long walks with his fiancée, Emma.
We are excited to welcome Ben to Thomson Rogers, and we look forward to a successful future together.
